Budapest Spring Festival

The Budapest Spring Festival is Hungary's most prestigious cultural festival. For a month from the middle of March it presents famous artists and talented young performers. The programme this year is especially colourful and rich. Those interested can choose from musical events, chamber evenings, opera and operetta performances, theatrical evenings, jazz and crossover concerts, folk music, and folk dance and dance shows, as well as exhibitions. We preview a few highlights which embrace every area of the arts

In conjunction with Hungary’s EU Presidency, all 27 Member States of the EU will be guests of the festival in 2011.
We live in a time of anniversaries. Ferenc Liszt, one of the most influential musicians in the history of music, was born 200 years ago, in 1811.
